How long does my layover need to be for this tour?

At least 8 hours is comfortable, so you can clear immigration, enjoy the tour and be back at JKIA three hours before your next international flight. With 6–8 hours we can run a shorter game drive only.

Do I need a visa to leave the airport in Nairobi?

Yes. Most visitors need a Kenya Transit eTA to leave the airport during a layover of up to 72 hours. Apply online at etakenya.go.ke before you fly.

What happens to my luggage during the layover tour?

If your bags are checked through to your final destination you only need a day pack. If not, your luggage stays locked in our vehicle during the tour.

What animals can I see in Nairobi National Park?

Lions, black and white rhinos, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, hippos and more than 400 bird species live in the park. Elephants are not resident there, which is why the Sheldrick nursery is part of this tour.

What if my flight is delayed?

We track your flight and adjust the plan. If you land late we shorten or reorder the stops, and we always prioritise getting you back to JKIA on time.

A long connection at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is the perfect excuse for a Nairobi layover tour. Nairobi National Park borders the airport, so within an hour of landing you can be watching lions, rhinos and giraffes with the city skyline behind them.

We meet you in arrivals, plan the day around your flight times and get you back to JKIA at least three hours before your next departure. Add the 11am baby elephant feeding at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and hand-feed giraffes at the Giraffe Centre. You need a Kenya Transit eTA to leave the airport.
