Kilimanjaro is clearest early in the morning and late afternoon, especially in the dry months. It often hides in cloud at midday and during the rains.

Amboseli is about 240 km from Nairobi, a drive of roughly 4–5 hours. You can also fly to Amboseli in about 45 minutes.

Will we see lions in Amboseli?

A 2 day Amboseli safari is the best short safari from Nairobi when you want elephants and Mount Kilimanjaro in one trip. Amboseli National Park is about 4–5 hours’ drive south of Nairobi and is famous for its big-tusked elephants walking across open plains beneath Africa’s highest mountain.
