Leave the beach for the world’s most famous safari: fly from Diani to the Masai Mara for two nights and four game drives.
Overview
A Masai Mara safari from Diani is the easiest way to combine Kenya’s best beach with its most famous reserve. Scheduled light aircraft fly from Ukunda airstrip near Diani to the Mara airstrips, usually with one stop, so you swap the Indian Ocean for lions and cheetahs in just a few hours.
You stay two nights in a tented camp, enjoy four game drives with experienced Mara guides and fly back to the coast on day three. Between July and October you may see the Great Migration.
Best for: Fly-in safari / beach add-on. Popular with: Beach holidaymakers in Diani and Mombasa from Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Poland and the UK. Best time: Year-round (Great Migration July–October).
Price is from USD 1,450 per adult sharing; the final cost depends on season, accommodation and group size.
