What Our Kenya Group Safari Packages Include

Inclusions vary slightly by itinerary, so we confirm everything in writing in your quote. As a rule, our Kenya group safari packages are built around the following:

  • Private vehicles: pop-up roof 4x4s or Land Cruisers reserved for your group alone, with a guaranteed window seat for every guest.
  • Professional driver-guides: one experienced guide per vehicle, so each car can follow its own sightings.
  • Accommodation and meals: lodges, tented camps or beach hotels at the level you choose, usually on full board while on safari.
  • Park and conservancy fees: most packages include entry fees and conservation charges unless stated otherwise.
  • Transfers: airport pick-up and drop-off in Nairobi, plus road transfers or domestic flights between parks.
  • Not included: international flights, Kenya eTA fees, travel insurance, drinks at some camps, tips and optional extras such as hot-air balloon flights.

Park fees change from time to time, so check our Kenya national park fees for 2026 and the official Kenya Wildlife Service website for current rates.

The Best Kenya Group Safari Packages by Group Type

The right package depends on your group’s budget, time and interests. Here is how we match our itineraries to the groups we host most often.

Friends and first-time groups

For a first safari, the 5 Days Kenya Safari – Masai Mara, Nakuru and Naivasha (from USD $1,250 per adult) packs the Mara’s big cats, Lake Nakuru’s rhinos and a boat ride on Lake Naivasha into one well-paced trip. Short on time? The Maasai Cultural and Wildlife Safari (4 days, from USD $1,100) adds a Maasai village visit, and our 3 Day Masai Mara Safari Package is the quickest way to see the Mara by road.

Great Migration groups

Between July and October, the Great Migration Safari – Masai Mara (5 days, from USD $1,450) gives your group four nights in the Mara tracking the herds and waiting for river crossings. These Kenya group safari packages sell out first, so read our guide to the best time to book a Kenya group safari before setting dates, and see our dedicated Great Migration safaris.

Families and multigenerational groups

The Family Luxury Safari (7 days, from USD $4,200 per adult, child rates on request) combines Amboseli’s elephants beneath Kilimanjaro, a relaxed stop at Lake Naivasha and the Masai Mara, with family-friendly camps and shorter drives. For tips on keeping grandparents and children happy on the same trip, read our multigenerational family safari guide and Kenya family safari guide.

Celebrations and incentive groups

Milestone birthdays, anniversaries and company incentive trips suit the Kenya Luxury Big Five Safari (8 days, from USD $4,800 per adult), which covers the Mara, Amboseli and Samburu in high-end camps. Add sundowners and a private bush dinner — see our guide to Masai Mara sundowners and bush dinners. For business groups, read about corporate group safari retreats in Kenya.

Photography clubs

The Big Cats Photographic Safari (6 days, from USD $2,600 per adult) flies your group into the Mara and dedicates whole days to lions, cheetahs and leopards, with a day in a private conservancy. Migration-season clubs can choose the Great Migration Photographic Safari. Our Masai Mara photography guide covers kit and settings.

Culture and repeat visitors

Groups who have already seen the Mara often love the Northern Kenya Cultural Safari (5 days, from USD $1,500 per adult) through Samburu and the Laikipia conservancies, home to species you won’t find further south.

Long trips and multi-country groups

Groups with more time can choose the 18-Day Kenya Safari (from USD $4,800 per adult, priced for a group of 8), which runs from Samburu to the Diani coast. For two countries, the Kenya and Tanzania Classic Safari (10 days, from USD $3,500) adds the Serengeti and Ngorongoro, and Gorillas and Savannah (11 days, from USD $5,500, gorilla permits included) combines gorilla trekking with the Mara.

How Group Size Affects the Price

The “from” prices on our website are a starting point. For Kenya group safari packages, the final per-person price depends on several things.

  • Shared vehicle and guide costs: a safari vehicle and guide cost the same whether two or six people sit inside, so larger groups usually pay less per person.
  • Room sharing: twin and triple rooms keep costs down; solo travellers in a single room pay a supplement. Read our guide to the single supplement on safari.
  • Children: many camps offer child rates, and park fees are lower for children.
  • Season: Masai Mara reserve fees and camp rates rise from July to December, so green-season dates are cheaper.
  • Camp level: moving from mid-range to luxury camps changes the price more than anything else.

For a full breakdown, see our Kenya safari cost guide and our Masai Mara safari cost guide.

Road or Fly-In: Which Suits Your Group?

Most Kenya group safari packages can run by road or by air. Road safaris are better value and let the group stay together in its own vehicles from start to finish. Fly-in safaris save long drives, which suits shorter trips, older travellers and luxury groups, but light aircraft have strict soft-bag luggage limits. Our guide to fly-in vs road safaris in Kenya compares the two, and our safari luggage weight limits guide explains what to pack.

Private vs Shared Group Safaris

All the Kenya group safari packages in this guide run as private trips: your group, your vehicles, your timetable. A shared or “joining” safari places individual travellers with strangers on fixed dates. It can be cheaper for solo travellers, but most groups prefer the control and comfort of a private safari. Read our comparison of private vs group safaris in Kenya.

Customising Your Group Package

All our Kenya group safari packages can be adjusted. Common changes include upgrading or downgrading camps, adding a night in a private conservancy, swapping road transfers for flights, adding a hot-air balloon flight, or finishing with time on the beach. Use our safari trip planner or message us on WhatsApp and we will rebuild any package around your group.

A Typical Day on Our Kenya Group Safari Packages

Most days on our Kenya group safari packages follow the rhythm of the wildlife rather than the clock. Knowing the routine helps a group agree on pace before it travels.

  • 6:00am: coffee and a light snack, then an early game drive while predators are most active and the light is soft.
  • Mid-morning: a hot breakfast back at camp or a bush breakfast under an acacia tree.
  • Midday: lunch and free time — swimming, resting, or a Maasai village visit for those who want it.
  • 4:00pm: afternoon game drive, finishing with sundowners as the sun sets over the plains.
  • Evening: dinner together, often around the campfire, swapping stories about the day’s sightings.

Because each vehicle has its own guide, early risers and keen photographers can head out first, while others enjoy a slower morning. That flexibility is one of the biggest advantages of private Kenya group safari packages over shared departures.

Tips for Choosing Between Kenya Group Safari Packages

When a group struggles to decide, these questions usually settle it quickly.

  • How many days does everyone have? Four to five days suits one or two parks; seven to ten days lets you combine the Mara with Amboseli, Samburu or Tanzania.
  • What is the lowest budget in the group? Build the trip around it, then offer upgrades to those who want them.
  • Is the migration a must? If yes, choose July to October and book early. If not, green-season dates give better value and quieter parks.
  • Who needs extra comfort? Older travellers and young children often prefer fewer, longer stays and short flights instead of long drives.
  • What is the group’s main interest? Photography, culture, Big Five, beach time or gorillas — each points to a different package.

Send us your answers and we will shortlist two or three Kenya group safari packages that fit, with prices for your exact group size. Unsure which park to prioritise? Our guide to the best parks to see the Big Five in Kenya and our green season safari pros and cons will help.

How to Book Kenya Group Safari Packages

  1. Choose a package and dates: pick an itinerary from this guide or send us your wish list.
  2. Get your quote: we confirm availability for your whole group and send group pricing in writing.
  3. Pay the deposit: a deposit of around 20–30% secures camps, vehicles and guides. See our guide to safari deposits and payment plans.

Kenya Group Safari Packages FAQs

These are the questions groups ask us most often before choosing a package, answered as simply as possible.

What are the best Kenya group safari packages for first-timers?

The 5-day Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha safari is our most popular first trip, from USD $1,250 per adult. It combines big cats, rhinos and a lake boat ride without long days on the road.

How much does a Kenya group safari cost per person?

Our Kenya group safari packages start from about USD $1,100 per adult for a 4-day Masai Mara trip and rise to USD $4,000–$5,500 for luxury and multi-country itineraries. Larger groups usually pay less per person because vehicle and guide costs are shared.

Are group safaris in Kenya private?

Yes. All our group packages run privately, with vehicles and guides reserved for your group only. Shared “joining” safaris are a separate, budget option for solo travellers.

How many people can join one group safari package?

There is no fixed maximum. Each vehicle carries up to six or seven guests with a window seat each, so larger groups simply travel in several vehicles, each with its own guide.

Do Kenya group safari packages include park fees?

Most of our packages include park and conservancy fees unless stated otherwise. International flights, eTA fees, insurance and tips are not included.

Can we customise a group safari package?

Yes. Every itinerary can be changed, from camp level and number of nights to adding flights, a balloon safari or a beach extension.

How far in advance should a group book?

For July–October and Christmas, book 9–12 months ahead. For green-season dates, 4–6 months is usually enough.
