Kenya safari packages from the UK are a simple way to see Kenya without stitching together lodges, drivers and park fees yourself. Sense of Adventure is a licensed Nairobi safari company, and every trip below is run in a private 4×4 Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof and your own English-speaking driver-guide. This page is written on 28 October 2026 for British couples, families, honeymooners, retirees and groups, and it covers the trips and prices, entry rules, UK government travel advice, health, flights from London and when to go.

Why Choose Kenya Safari Packages From the UK?
Kenya suits British travellers for practical reasons as well as wildlife ones. English is widely spoken, Kenya uses the same three-pin UK-style plug sockets, and Nairobi is only 2 to 3 hours ahead of the UK, so jet lag is mild. Our Kenya safari packages from the UK are priced in US dollars, and international flights are not included in any listed price, so you can choose the flight that suits you. With Kenya safari packages from the UK, you land in Nairobi, are met at the airport or your hotel, and are handed to one driver-guide for the whole safari.
- Big cats and elephants: the Masai Mara and Amboseli are two of the best places in Africa to watch lions, cheetahs and elephants from a vehicle.
- Short time difference: Kenya is on UTC+3 all year, so you are only 3 hours ahead of the UK in winter and 2 hours ahead in summer.
- Private by default: your own vehicle means you can stop longer at a sighting, and families can start later if children are tired.
- Easy to extend: add a few nights on Diani Beach, or combine Kenya with Tanzania and Zanzibar on the same itinerary.
- One written quote: we send an itemised quote so you can compare it with any other operator line by line.

Which of Our Kenya Safari Packages From the UK Suits You?
Couples and honeymooners
With Kenya safari packages from the UK, couples usually choose between a short Mara stay and a bush-and-beach honeymoon. The 4-day Masai Mara honeymoon safari is listed from USD 1,900 per person, the 7-day Bush and Beach Honeymoon with Diani from USD 2,800, and the 10-day Kenya and Zanzibar honeymoon from USD 3,650. Our Kenya honeymoon safari guide explains the choices in more detail.
Families with children
The 5-day Kenya family safari (from USD 1,290) keeps drives manageable by splitting the journey with Lake Naivasha, and the 8-day family safari and beach adds Diani for swimming at the end (from USD 1,950). Camps and activities such as balloon flights set their own age limits, so read our safari minimum age guide and our Kenya family safari packages page before you choose, and tell us your children’s ages when you ask for a quote.
Retirees and older travellers
If you want to avoid long road days, the 6-day gentle fly-in safari for seniors uses light-aircraft flights between Ol Pejeta and the Masai Mara and is listed from USD 3,600. Our guide to safari in your 70s and 80s covers comfort, health and pace, and we are happy to talk through mobility needs on WhatsApp first.
Groups of friends and extended families
Our group Kenya safari packages from the UK run for larger parties in several vehicles, each with its own driver-guide, and group prices usually fall as numbers grow. The 6-day group safari starts at USD 1,390, the 7-day classic group safari at USD 1,650 and the 10-day safari and beach holiday at USD 2,450, all per person. For longer journeys, the 14-day Grand Slam and the 15-day safari and beach cover most of Kenya’s famous wildlife areas, and the 14-day Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar family holiday is listed from USD 4,300.

Entry Rules for British Passport Holders: eTA and Insurance
Before you buy flights, check entry rules, because they changed in 2026. To take Kenya safari packages from the UK, plan on two things: an approved Kenya eTA and the mandatory Kenyan travel health insurance. Apply for the eTA only through the official portal at etakenya.go.ke, because copycat websites charge more.
- Kenya eTA: the fee is from USD 30 per person, depending on the type of application; check the portal for the current fee. Approval usually takes around three working days, so apply at least two weeks before you fly.
- Passport: one guide reports that your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond arrival and have two blank pages. Confirm this on the portal before you apply.
- Travel health insurance: reports say that from about 6 October 2026 non-Kenyan visitors need travel health insurance with at least USD 50,000 of cover, with a premium reported at about USD 44 per adult plus an access fee of about USD 1. It is still unclear whether a UK policy is accepted, so confirm on the portal. Our mandatory travel insurance guide and the Nairobi to Zanzibar layover guide follow the same rules.
- Your own trip insurance: the Kenyan policy does not replace UK travel insurance. Buy cancellation, medical and evacuation cover at home, and ask your insurer about Kenya before you book.
Rules and prices can change quickly, so treat this as a guide and check the portal close to your travel date.
What the UK Foreign Office Says About Kenya
Before booking any of the Kenya safari packages from the UK, read the advice from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) on the gov.uk Kenya travel advice page. Its regional risks section, dated 28 October 2026, advised against all travel to Mandera County, to parts of Wajir County, to Garissa County except Garissa Town (with some further areas named), and to Lamu County except Lamu Island and Manda Island. It advised against all but essential travel to Garissa Town, to Tana River County north of the Tana River as far as Saka, and to the area within 15km of the east coast between the Tana River and the Galana river. The page cites the risk of terrorism from groups based in Somalia for the northern and border areas.
We could only read the regional risks part of the advice, and the full page contains more, including entry, safety and health sections. The routes in the table above run to parks, lakes and Diani Beach rather than to those named areas, but read the full advice yourself and ask us to check your route against it. The FCDO updates its advice often, so check it again before you book and just before you fly. We cannot make that decision for you, and you should ask your insurer how the advice affects your cover.
Health: Malaria, Yellow Fever and Vaccines for Kenya
Whichever of the Kenya safari packages from the UK you choose, see a GP or travel clinic 6 to 8 weeks before you fly, and read the Kenya page on TravelHealthPro (NaTHNaC). The NHS-run Fit for Travel Kenya page says malaria risk is high throughout the year across most of Kenya and low in Nairobi, its immediate surroundings and highlands above 2,500m. It adds that malaria tablets are not normally advised for Nairobi and its immediate surroundings, and that diphtheria, hepatitis A, polio and tetanus vaccination is usually advised. On yellow fever, it says a vaccination certificate is required for travellers aged 1 year or over arriving from countries with a risk of transmission, and it does not say whether that applies to arrivals from the UK, so check this for your own route. That page notes that its updates were paused from 7 October 2025, so use TravelHealthPro for the latest advice. Our Kenya safari malaria guide explains how bites are avoided on safari.
All our trips include AMREF Flying Doctors evacuation cover, which helps in remote areas, but it is not a substitute for medical and cancellation insurance from home.
Flights From London to Nairobi and the Time Difference
For Kenya safari packages from the UK, British Airways and Kenya Airways are both reported to fly nonstop between London Heathrow and Nairobi, and one route guide gives a typical non-stop time of about eight to nine hours. Travellers from Gatwick and other UK airports usually need a connection, so check current schedules with the airlines. We suggest you book flights only once your safari dates and entry paperwork are settled, and we are happy to look at your arrival time and plan the first transfer around it.
For Kenya safari packages from the UK, note that Kenya is on UTC+3 all year and does not change its clocks. The UK is on GMT in winter and BST in summer, which makes Kenya 3 hours ahead of the UK from late October to late March and 2 hours ahead from late March to late October. That small gap means most guests feel rested after a night’s sleep, and a gentle first afternoon is usually enough to settle in.
Best Time to Go and UK School Holidays
The best time for Kenya safari packages from the UK depends on what you want to see and when you can travel. July to October is the dry season and the Great Migration in the Masai Mara, which overlaps the UK summer holidays, so book early and expect the highest prices. Our Great Migration 2027 guide explains timing, which varies from year to year.
- Summer holidays (late July to early September): migration season in the Mara and the busiest, most expensive weeks. See our Masai Mara safari page.
- Christmas and New Year: warm, mostly green weather and good resident big cats, with popular camps booked early. Read our Christmas safari Kenya guide and our Kenya safari in December guide.
- January and February: hot, quiet and good for big cats, which suits the February half-term. See our Kenya safari in January guide.
- Easter and October half-term: both fall near the short and long rains in some years, so ask us what to expect for your dates. For elephants beneath Kilimanjaro in most months, see our Amboseli safari page.
